A hotel with free-roaming horses in the Montes de Toledo
At Cork Valley the horses are not in a stable or a riding school. They live loose across the 70 hectares of the estate, and that completely changes what a weekend here is like: you can have your feet in the pool and one of them grazing ten metres away.
A herd that lives free
Cork Valley sits on a private 70-hectare estate in Hontanar, Toledo, inside the buffer area of Cabañeros National Park. The horses share that space with the accommodation: there are no fences keeping them in one area and no set times when they are taken out.
That means there is no fixed spot to see them. Some days they turn up beside the pool, other days they stay far off among the holm oaks. That is part of the point: it is not a scheduled attraction, it is a herd living on its own ground.

They are not the only ones
On the estate you also regularly see deer, birds of prey and the wildlife typical of the Montes de Toledo. The setting is Mediterranean forest: centuries-old holm oaks, cork oaks and open dehesa.
At night the scene changes. Cork Valley is a certified Starlight Destination, so on clear nights the Milky Way is visible to the naked eye from the terrace.
Where you will sleep
Twelve units adults only spread across the 70 hectares: timber cabins and Mirror Houses, the latter clad in mirrored glass so they disappear into the landscape. Some units have a private Nordic hot tub, a sauna or their own pool. You can see them all on the accommodation page.
The estate is pet friendly: you can bring your dog. And it runs on 100% solar power.
