Why Puy du Fou is worth the trip

Puy du Fou Spain opened on the edge of Toledo and in a few years has become the biggest draw in the province. It closed the 2025 season with 1,720,000 visitors and more than 70 million euros in revenue, against 1.5 million visitors in 2024.

Its impact goes beyond the box office: the company puts the overnight stays it generates locally at 670,000, and it employs around 1,300 people directly, the great majority from Castilla-La Mancha, plus some 3,500 indirect jobs. It stages more than 3,000 performances a year.

In March 2026 the regional government gave environmental approval to its expansion: three hotels and 426 rooms across more than 36,000 additional square metres, with a projection of 2.18 million visitors by 2035. It is the province's tourism story with the most sustained national coverage.

What to see

  • El Sueño de Toledo

The large-scale night show that runs through fifteen centuries of Spanish history in a little over an hour. The natural end to the day.

  • The daytime shows

Several productions around the park through the day, with horses, birds of prey and live stage effects.

  • The villages and settings

Walk-through historical recreations between shows, with craftspeople and live music.

  • Planning the day

Every show has limited sittings: check the programme as you arrive and build the day around them.

Getting there from Cork Valley

The park is on Toledo's south-western ring road. From Cork Valley it is 59 km measured by road, on the CM-4155 and CM-401, without going through the city centre. Parking is large but fills up as the night show empties, so allow a few extra minutes.

When to go

The park runs in seasons and does not open every day of the year, so the calendar is the first thing to check. A full day ending with the night show finishes late, and that is where your choice of bed matters: driving back to Madrid in the small hours turns a good day into a bad ending. Sleeping nearby, in the countryside, changes the plan entirely.
